This verse describes the final moments of Jesus’ life on the cross. His words, “It is finished,” signify the completion of His earthly mission and the fulfillment of the divine plan for our salvation. Jesus’ death on the cross marked the end of the sacrificial system and the beginning of a new era of grace and forgiveness for all who believe in Him.
 
In this moment, Jesus accomplished what no one else could – He bore the weight of our sins and paid the penalty for our transgressions. His sacrifice made it possible for us to be reconciled with God and to receive the gift of eternal life.

Help us to always remember the significance of Your words, “It is finished,” and to trust in Your finished work for our salvation. May we never take Your sacrifice for granted and may our lives be a reflection of Your love and grace. In Your name, we pray. Amen.
