Today’s Devotional

In Genesis 17:1, God appears to Abram (later renamed Abraham) and reveals Himself as God Almighty, or El Shaddai. He calls Abram to walk before Him faithfully and to be blameless. This encounter marks the establishment of a new covenant between God and Abram, promising to make him the father of many nations and to bless his descendants.

This verse serves as a reminder of the importance of obedience and faithfulness in our relationship with God. God calls us, like Abram, to walk before Him with faithfulness and to strive for blamelessness in our lives. While we may not be perfect, we can trust in God’s grace and seek to grow in our faith and obedience as we walk with Him.

Time to reflect

As you reflect on Genesis 17:1 and the importance of faithfulness and obedience in our relationship with God, consider the following questions:

  • In what areas of your life do you need to grow in faithfulness and obedience to God?
  • How can you rely on God’s grace and strength to walk faithfully and strive for blamelessness in your daily life?
  • What steps can you take to deepen your relationship with God and cultivate a heart that is faithful and obedient to Him?

Prayer Of The Day

Heavenly Father, thank You for the example of Abram, who walked faithfully before You and became the father of many nations. We recognize the importance of obedience and faithfulness in our relationship with You and ask for Your help in cultivating a heart that is faithful and obedient.

Forgive us for the times we have not walked in faithfulness or obedience. Strengthen us by Your grace to walk before You with faithfulness and to strive for blamelessness in our lives. Help us to deepen our relationship with You and to grow in our faith and obedience as we walk with You.

In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Strengthening Faith

  1. Reflect on your life and identify areas where you need to grow in faithfulness and obedience to God.
  2. Pray for God’s guidance and strength to walk faithfully and strive for blamelessness in your daily life.
  3. Consider joining a small group or Bible study where you can be held accountable and encouraged to grow in your faith and obedience to God.
