Today’s Devotional
Hebrews 12:1 serves as a powerful reminder for Christians to persevere in their faith journey. The “great cloud of witnesses” refers to the faithful believers who have gone before us, as mentioned in Hebrews 11. These individuals serve as examples of faith and endurance, inspiring us to follow in their footsteps.
To run the race effectively, we must first “throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles.” This means identifying and letting go of habits, relationships, and attitudes that distract us from focusing on God and living a life that pleases Him.
Time to reflect
Reflect on the following questions as you consider the message of Hebrews 12:1:
- What are the hindrances or sins in your life that may be preventing you from running the race of faith effectively?
- How can you look to the examples of faithful believers from the past for encouragement and inspiration?
- What practical steps can you take to persevere in your faith and grow closer to God?
Prayer Of The Day

Strengthen us and give us the determination to persevere in our faith, following the example of those who have trusted in You. We ask this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
