Today’s Devotional

This verse is a powerful reminder of our identity as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved by Him. As followers of Jesus, we are called to clothe ourselves with the virtues that reflect Christ’s character, such as compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. These virtues should be visible in our lives as we interact with others and represent Christ in the world.

Clothing ourselves with these Christ-like virtues requires intentional effort and practice, as well as reliance on the Holy Spirit to transform our hearts and minds. As we grow in our relationship with Jesus, we can cultivate these virtues and demonstrate His love and grace to those around us.

Time to reflect

As you reflect on Colossians 3:12 and the call to clothe yourself with Christ-like virtues, consider the following questions:

  • How do you currently see these virtues of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience manifesting in your life?
  • In what areas do you need to grow or improve in order to better represent Christ’s character to others?
  • How can you rely on the Holy Spirit and engage in spiritual disciplines to cultivate these virtues in your life?

Prayer Of The Day

Lord Jesus, thank You for the reminder that we are Your chosen people, holy and dearly loved by You. Help us to clothe ourselves with the virtues that reflect Your character, such as compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.

We ask for Your guidance and the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives, as we seek to grow in these virtues and represent You well to those around us. Teach us to rely on Your strength and grace as we strive to live out Your love and truth in our daily lives.

In Your name, we pray. Amen.
