Today’s Devotional
John 1:14 is a profound declaration of the incarnation of Jesus Christ. This verse emphasizes that Jesus, the eternal Word, took on human flesh and lived among us. The Word becoming flesh signifies that God Himself entered into our world, taking on human nature while still remaining fully divine.
The incarnation of Jesus demonstrates God’s love, compassion, and desire to be in a relationship with humanity. Jesus came to reveal the Father’s heart and extend grace and truth to all who believe in Him. By living among us, Jesus was able to experience firsthand the joys, sorrows, and challenges of human life, making Him uniquely able to empathize with our struggles and serve as the perfect mediator between God and humanity.
In this verse, John also testifies to having seen Jesus’ glory. This glory is a reflection of Jesus’ divine nature and His unique position as the one and only Son of God. Through Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection, we can come to know and experience the grace and truth that He embodies.
