Today’s Devotional
In Galatians 1:6, the Apostle Paul expresses his astonishment that the believers in Galatia have so quickly turned away from the true Gospel of Christ to a distorted version. This serves as a warning for us today to remain steadfast in the true Gospel message and not be swayed by teachings that deviate from it.
The true Gospel message is that we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone, not by our own works or merits. However, false teachings may attempt to add to or subtract from this message, leading people astray from the truth. We must be diligent in our study of the Word and rely on the guidance of the Holy Spirit to discern truth from error.
Time to reflect
To guard ourselves against distorting the Gospel, consider the following points:
- Be grounded in the true Gospel message: we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone.
- Regularly study the Word of God, seeking to understand and apply its teachings to our lives.
- Be discerning and cautious when listening to teachings or interpretations that deviate from the core Gospel message.
- Rely on the guidance of the Holy Spirit to help us discern truth from error.
- Encourage and support fellow believers in remaining steadfast in the true Gospel, warning them against false teachings.
Prayer Of The Day
Lord Jesus, thank You for the gift of salvation through Your grace and our faith in You. Help us to remain steadfast in the true Gospel message and not be swayed by false teachings or distorted versions of the truth. Give us discernment and wisdom to recognize error and the courage to stand up for the truth of Your Word.
Strengthen our fellow believers in their commitment to the Gospel and guide us all in our study of Your Word. May the Holy Spirit lead us in discerning truth from error, and may we be a united force in proclaiming and defending the true Gospel message. In Your name, we pray. Amen.
