Today’s Devotional
Ephesians 2:1 paints a vivid picture of our spiritual condition before we came to know Jesus Christ. We were dead in our sins and transgressions, separated from God and unable to save ourselves. This verse sets the stage for the incredible grace and love God demonstrated by sending Jesus to save us.
The truth of our spiritual deadness should make us appreciate the transformative power of God’s grace even more. We were once lost, without hope, and spiritually dead, but God intervened in our lives, bringing us back to life through faith in Jesus Christ.
Time to reflect
Reflect on the following questions as you consider the significance of Ephesians 2:1 in your own life:
- How does understanding your previous spiritual condition help you appreciate the gift of salvation more?
- In what ways has God’s grace transformed your life since coming to faith in Jesus Christ?
- How can you share this message of hope and transformation with others who are still “dead in their transgressions and sins”?
Prayer Of The Day
Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your amazing grace that has brought us from spiritual death to life in Christ. We acknowledge that without Your intervention, we would still be lost in our sins. Thank You for the gift of salvation and the new life we have in Jesus.
Help us to live in the light of this truth daily, never taking Your grace for granted. Empower us to share the good news of Your love and transformation with those around us who are still dead in their sins. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

- Encourage and support fellow believers in their faith journey, reminding one another of the life-changing power of God’s grace.
