Today’s Devotional

In John 1:11, we see a heartbreaking reality: Jesus, the Son of God, came to His own people, the Israelites, but they did not receive Him. Despite the prophecies and promises that spoke of His coming, the majority of the people failed to recognize and accept Him as their Messiah and Savior.

This verse reminds us that Jesus faced rejection, even from those He came to save. It also highlights the importance of recognizing and accepting Jesus as our Savior. While many did not receive Him, there were those who did, and their lives were transformed by His love and grace.

As believers, we can be grateful for the opportunity to know and accept Jesus as our Savior. It is through our faith in Him that we experience forgiveness, redemption, and eternal life. In response to this amazing gift, we are called to share the good news with others, inviting them to experience the same life-changing relationship with Jesus.

Time to reflect

To apply the lessons from this verse, consider these points:

  • Acknowledge the reality of Jesus’ rejection and the importance of accepting Him as our Savior.
  • Thank God for the opportunity to know and receive Jesus, experiencing His love, forgiveness, and grace.
  • Reflect on the transformation that has occurred in your life as a result of your relationship with Jesus.
  • Be mindful of those who have not yet received Jesus, and pray for opportunities to share the good news with them.
  • Encourage fellow believers to remain steadfast in their faith and to boldly share the gospel with others.

Prayer Of The Day

Lord, we thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus, to be our Savior. We recognize that He faced rejection from His own people, yet we are grateful for the opportunity to receive and accept Him as our Lord. Help us to never take for granted the gift of salvation and the transformation we experience through faith in Jesus.

Give us a heart for those who have not yet received Jesus, and open doors for us to share the good news with them. Strengthen our faith and empower us to be bold witnesses for Christ, inviting others to experience the life-changing relationship we have with Him. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Strengthening Faith

To apply the lessons from this verse, take these action steps:

  1. Reflect on your personal journey of faith and the impact of accepting Jesus as your Savior.
  2. Pray for those in your life who have not yet received Jesus, asking God to soften their hearts and open their minds to the truth.
  3. Look for opportunities to share your testimony and the good news of Jesus with others.
Encourage fellow believers to be bold in their faith and in sharing the gospel message.
  4. Continue to deepen your relationship with Jesus, drawing strength and guidance from Him as you share His love with others.

Today Wisdom

The rejection of Jesus by His own people is a sobering reminder of the importance of recognizing and accepting Him as our Savior. As believers, we have the privilege of knowing and experiencing His love, forgiveness, and grace. May we be faithful in sharing this life-changing message with others, inviting them to receive Jesus as their Savior and Lord.
