Today’s Devotional
In 1 Thessalonians 5:6, the Apostle Paul urges the believers in Thessalonica to be spiritually awake and sober. He contrasts this state with those who are spiritually asleep, living their lives without considering the eternal consequences of their actions or the imminent return of Christ. Paul is calling the believers to be vigilant, prepared, and living in the light of Jesus’ second coming.
As Christians, we too should be mindful of our spiritual condition. We are called to be alert and watchful, not allowing ourselves to be lulled into spiritual complacency. We should strive to live our lives with a sense of urgency, recognizing that Christ could return at any moment. By staying focused on our relationship with God and living out our faith, we can avoid being caught off guard when Jesus returns.
