Today’s Devotional
In Luke 1, the angel Gabriel appears to Zechariah to announce the birth of his son, John the Baptist. Zechariah’s initial reaction is fear, which is a common response when humans encounter the divine or angelic beings in the Bible. Recognizing Zechariah’s fear, the angel reassures him, saying, “Do not be afraid, Zechariah; your prayer has been heard” (Luke 1:13). This passage reminds us that while encountering God’s presence may be overwhelming, there is comfort in knowing that God is with us and hears our prayers.
Time to reflect
As you go about your daily life, consider how you might become more aware of God’s presence and find comfort in His care. Reflect on the following questions:
- In what situations do you feel the need for God’s comforting presence the most?
- How can you cultivate an awareness of God’s presence in your daily life?
- How does knowing that God hears your prayers bring you comfort and reassurance?
Prayer Of The Day
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your constant presence in our lives. Help us to be more aware of Your comforting presence, especially in times of fear or uncertainty. Remind us that You hear our prayers and care deeply for our well-being.
Lord, teach us to lean on You and trust in Your love and guidance. May we find solace in knowing that You are with us, and that we can always turn to You in prayer. Grant us the strength and faith to face each day with confidence, knowing that Your presence is our comfort and our refuge.
In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
